EARTHS MYSTERIES.
For the past couple of months I’ve been going down to the river, to the forest everyday. Some days I try to talk myself out of it, that I don’t have time, that I’ve got work to do…..but somehow I still find myself driving to my spot. Getting out of the car and walking to the tree that has become my friend.
I talk to her, sing to her, hug her, breathe with her…..
The people that walk by as I am in this communion crank their head, sometimes stop, stare, look at me as if to say what the hell is she doing….is she crazy?
And I’m okay with that, with being the crazy one, I’ve been that for quite some time now….
the crazy aunt that waves around a burning stick to get rid of negative energy,
the one that spices up the dinner party by asking…what do you guys think happens when we die?
the crazy one that does witchy things in the woods,
that talks to trees….
But am I actually the crazy one?
No.
What is crazy is….
That we’ve been conditioned to believe that we are separate from nature.
That we are above her.
That we are at the top of the food chain.
That we can take and take.
That we can live separately from the planet we live on.
That trees aren’t beings just like us.
That every being on this earth isn’t just as necessary as we are.
That we are invincible.
That’s the crazy part.
But the best part is…..
I see the twinkle in the humans eyes as they stare, I see the re-membering that is taking place, the longing to belong to the land that they live on, to be part of something, to be held by the Mother.
I see the pulling in their heart to return to the earth that birthed them and the pulling to awaken to the mysteries that are within them.
The pull to awaken to the truth in their bones just as I awaken to the wisdom keeper that stands before me each and everyday.
The earth holds the mysteries, she is sacred, just as you are…..and when we commune with her joy takes over, play, sensuality… we attune to the sacredness within and all around.
